Wildfire Response

As the leadership of Westwood Church determines how we can most effectively respond corporately to the wildfire crisis in our province, we want to reach out to everyone who is a part of the Westwood Church family and encourage individuals to get involved with efforts that are already underway.

We have compiled a list below of ways that you can get involved by volunteering, providing accommodations and/or RV space for evacuees, or donating money.

Alternately, or in addition, take some time to connect with the evacuees at CNC, the Northern Sports Centre, or wherever you find them and find out directly how you can lend a hand. Don’t be shy!

We also ask that you continue to pray for everyone affected by the fires, for rain without lightning, and that, as God’s people, our love and care for those in need would reflect God’s glory!

Thanks everyone!

This page has been informally (there is no formal plan in place) coordinating the hauling of livestock and animals out of evacuated areas. Page admin, Marie Bennett writes, “Our team is working directly with many who are willing to continue to help HAUL, horses, and other livestock in need, many who have been hauling non-stop for several days BUT who are now in need of MONEY FOR GAS.” If you would donate, please either:

  • Contact Marie Bennett at marie@mariebennett.com or text 1-250-801-8231
  • Drop off gas gift cards at the PG Agriplex (between CN Centre and Aquatic Centre)
