I am so excited to introduce to you one of our Westwood Students, Sabina! Enjoy!
WW: Where did you grow up?
S: I was born in Camrose Alberta, and around the age of 5, we moved to Prince George.
WW: Tell us a bit of what you do.
S: I work at the church as one of the chairhandlers, I set up for events and takedown after. I am also a full-time student at UNBC.
WW: What do you do for fun?
S: I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, playing games (board games, card games, and the occasional video game), I love kayaking and going to the lake, reading a good book, and going for walks.
WW: How long have you been at Westwood church?
S: 14 years
WW: How have you volunteered and served at Westwood?
S: I have helped out at the Mennonite fall fair, Mega sports camp/VBS, helped in the kitchen for many events, volunteered in Sunday school, and have been a youth group leader for three years.
WW: What has life been like for you the last few years?
S: The past few years have certainly been crazy. Graduating from Kelly road, going to University, moving into our own house, and planting our very first garden.
WW: What are you appreciating about life right now?
S: I appreciate the family and friends who have been there through life and through school, like my mom, my siblings, my grandparents, and friends. I have also really enjoyed watching our garden grow over the summer.
WW: What is challenging in life right now? And what is God teaching you at this time?
S: School has definitely been a challenge and a struggle being online, it has its positives and negatives.
Its also been hard not being able to be with people, staying away from elderly family for their safety, and not being able to hug friends
God has been teaching me a lot, he has shown me that no matter what is going on in life that he is provider and protector. He is there no matter what.
Thanks for sharing your story Sabina!
