Penner Post May 2010
Hi,
You will find our May newsletter attached. Please let us know if you would like to receive a paper copy of our newsletter or would prefer a lower resolution email version (about half the size or less).
We'd like to highlight a couple praise and prayer items. Praise the Lord with us that the money that was lost in a bank machine withdrawal by Pastor Miguel in March has been refunded to our account. Please pray about the Internet connection at Miguel's house which hasn't been working properly for about a week. I don't know whether the problem is with the satellite dish and modem, which would probably require me to get a technician to come to the village, or between the modem and the computers, which I should be able to fix myself. It would be nice if I knew one way or the other before I leave for the village next week so I could arrange for help if needed.
Grace and peace,
Kevin
Note from Bangkok
Thank you for all your emails and prayers for our safety during this past week of anarchy and chaos in Thailand. We too are grieved by the senseless loss of life.
But we are safe here, living in the outskirts of Bangkok.
While Bangkok is burning, people have been anxiously watching the T.V. all day. As Christians, we have had no desire to entertain or add more fear by speculating about the future. Instead, we have placed our lives and confidence in Jesus’ protection. It is strange, but this past week, in the midst of curfews and travel restrictions, our Thai and Burm*se Believers have had an even greater passion to share about Christ’s promise of Eternal life and forgiveness of our sins in these very uncertain times. And God has been faithful! This week, over 13 people prayed to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Hallelujah!
Please open the attachment to read how God is miraculously transforming this nation, one life at a time!
Much love,
Louise
